Wow - wonder who signed off on the Last Supper parody as appropriate for a Olympic Opening Ceremony? This article about different opening ceremonies over the years is sorta interesting.
Torvill and Dean skate-dancing to Ravel's Bolero at the Winter Games opening at Sarajevo in 1984 is pretty impressive
And Mr Bean playing synthesiser at the London opening in 2012 is amusing

Meanwhile, I usually start my day listening to the news while eating my breakfast. Instead, we have live Olympic coverage. Rugby 7s and Volleyball from Paris and then a switch to Tahiti for the surfing is certainly different to the death, mayhem, scandal and intrigue of my normal mornings. I have found another channel now that is still broadcasting the news, although the Olympics feature there as well

Can't escape these Olympics, but some of the stories make me smile, like the 14-year-old skateboard gold medal winner and her 'humble request'
