If memory serves they used to give the referees home town in the programmes too (mine are all in the loft so can't check). Was probably to assure fans there was no connection to either side playing.

Pretty sure I was there at that one. A few years later Cloughie wasn't so gentle with a few Forest fans who invaded the pitch against QPR, threw a few right handers in their direction.

In Glasgow it would be(and still is)Mr Orange cunt shaking hands with never seen it and 'confirmed' by VAR cunt. Showever of right wing cheats.

Don't think he'd quite decided what look to go with there.

Don't think he'd quite decided what look to go with there. Obviously influenced by Clockwork Orange and Bowie but looks more like he’d slipped away from the circus, or more charitably, SAHB

www.theguardian.com/football/2023/jun/29/visited-300-football-stadiums-grounds-groundhopper-proud-embarrassedArticle on groundhoppers, these people who go to as many grounds as possible. I reckon I've been to about 30. Including ones that no longer exist (Boro, Oxford, West Ham, Maine Road, Highbury, Shrewsbury, Bolton, Huddersfield, Wimbledon, Tottenham, Wembley)

Oddest games I've been to:
Solomon Islands v Australia, Oceanic World Cup qualifier. 9 - O to the Aussies.
Cambodia v China. A friendly pre World Cup qualifiers. Cambodia was not considered safe enough by FIFA to enter proper tournaments. 5 - 0 to China.
Yerevan v Gumri. Armenian Cup Final at the crumbling Hrazdan Stadium. 1 - 0 to Yerevan. Incredibly boring game.
Anyone else?

I can't compete with those for weirdness, best I can come up with...
Distillery v Lindfield was an odd one - mid 1990s. Distillery had moved out of Belfast during the troubles and no one seemed to know how to get to their ground. Eventually got a taxi driver to take us and he had to ask passers by. There were about 20 Distillery fans and about 200 Lindfield fans. Enjoyable game though and made friends in the club bar
I saw Benfica play away at Alverca, a small Lisbon team. Michael Thomas was playing for Benfica which was my motivation for going. A routine 0-2 victory for Benfica. Pretty boring game
Went to a few grounds in Scotland when I lived there. But nothing especially odd about them.

I saw Dumbarton a few times in 1978. At their Boghead ground which was demolished years ago.
Only been to 4 internationals three of which were Germany games in Stretford in Euro 96.
