I won a copy of the Sniffing Glue book on her Radio 2 overnight show about twenty years ago . Spoke to her on air too.

Far too early. R.I.P.
A pioneer in terms of female DJ's, esp at Radio 1, where it can't have been easy fighting the dinosaurs that roamed the corridors of broadcasting house during the early/mid 80's.
I'll always remember her for the early evening slot ( pre-John Peel ) on R1, and the passion with which she spoke about the music.

Never knew Keith Chegwin and Janice were brother and sister. There's another brother, Jeff, who I met briefly in the late 80's when he represented Lindy Layton ( 'Dub Be Good To Me - Beats International ). A quick search shows he's still involved in PR et al: www.jeffchegwin.com/

HIs appreciation of Janice is obvious in this missive, but he spoils it with referencing his own personal gripes.

Better late than never.
I was a regular listener of Janice's show on Radio 2 on the nightshift(followed by Alex Lester from 3am to 6am)around 15-20 years ago.
She even played a couple of tracks for me over the years.😃
Way too young, feel for her family.
RIP Janice.
