Where have all our statues gone?  I thought the verdict would encourage other people to try their luck. Hasn't happened yet. I was also wrong about Putin – I didn't think he'd be crazy enough to invade Ukraine. |

The local folk hated that statue . A bristol jury would always understand local feeling and support finally getting rid of the coulston statue . Cant think of a similar situation elewhwere |

Similarly, it is neither racist nor white supremacist to state that black people in Britain commit a disproportionate amount of crime, as that is also backed by ample evidence. You may feel that it is racist to point out such facts, but that is an entirely different debate. Maybe going over old ground here, can't remember, but if I was to point out quite correctly that nearly all white collar crime is committed by white men and then used that correct statistic to posit a theory that white men are far more likely to be criminals than women or other races then you would immediately jump on me (again, quite rightly) to say that I am ignoring the mitigating reasons such as education, access to the jobs, family background etc and just using selected statistics to prove a point that targets white men in a sexist and racist way. |
