I lost track of the Vibrators after the 70s
Would this be worth acquiring...?
The Albums 1985-1990
Five CD, 63 track clamshell box set from Punk legends The Vibrators. Covering all of the albums the band released for Revolver Records between 1985-90
Disc One is the band’s first ever live album that includes acknowledged Punk classic like ‘Baby Baby’, ‘Automatic Lover’ and ‘Troops Of Tomorrow’.
The second disc is 1988’s Recharged album which features the single ‘String Him Along’ plus a bonus track in the form of a live version of ‘Disco In Mosco’.
Disc Three is the Meltdown album which now adds the previously non LP ‘Wasted Life’ as a bonus track.
The fourth disc is 1989’s Vicious Circle album which features the ‘Halfway To Paradise’ single and the rare bonus B-side ‘Drive’.
The final disc is the band’s tenth album, fittingly called Volume Ten.
The booklet contains detailed liner notes overseen by founding member Jon ‘Eddie’ Edwards.

...i have two of those albums on the original vinyl.
Despite their popularity waning here, into the 80s/90s they still had a following in Europe... no doubt helped by Die Toten Hosen covering their songs, raising their profile in Germany.
They have been so prolific over the decades, i don't have all their albums... and there are alot more than you might think.
About 10 years ago my band supported them... minus Knox, here in my hometown... their guitarist behaved like a dick.
I'd have a listen to those albums on Spotify before shelling out hard cash. Knox is a fine songwriter, but i think some of their later albums were 'contractual obligations'

I've had that Live album in, great track listing but it was a Spanish press and the sound quality was a bit flat if I recall. The guitarist Andy, didn't have the initials NB by any chance?

The guitarist Andy, didn't have the initials NB by any chance? ...could be, P.U. Maybe he was just having a bad night... but he behaved like a spoilt child. Moaning about how many other bands were also playing that night... and throwing a massive tantrum if you so much as looked at his precious f**king Amp.

Hmm, he was also in another band I put on and he moaned about another band member who was suffering asthma problems on the night.

...as a rule of thumb, i tend to gravitate more towards their albums that John Ellis plays on and write songs for. But, i just dug this album out from 1994 and there are nuggets to be enjoyed

RIP Pat Collier
Original Vibrators bassist. Think he did some production in the 80s including the Darling Buds,
