Aged 74. Grew up with The Sweeney and Minder, great tough guy fare from another age. RIP

Indeed so PU Sad news I still love The Sweeney and, to a lesser extent, Minder

RIP.
Having a scrap with a pool cue in a west London drinking club over dodgy goods in a lock-up will never be the same again.

I actually prefered Minder to the Sweeney, much better characters but to be honest I never liked Waterman as a person.
Wasn't he a boorish drunken woman abuser?

R.I.P. - Minder and The Sweeney, cracking TV.
Anyone remember the Little Britain sketches? Write the theme tune, sing the theme tune...

I think that must be all the main cast members from both the Sweeney and Minder gone now.
Regan, Haskins and now Carter.
Arfur Dailly, Dave the Barman and of course now Terry McCann.
The only one left is Charlie Chisholm ably played by Patrick Malahide.
Seems like only yesterday that we were tuning into these great shows.😕

He was a very heavy drinker at one point
An ex girlfriend lived over the road from his local pub and he was in there most days, often plastered. Dunno if he kept that up throughout his life
Might also have been a contributory factor to any domestic violence

Dunno if he kept that up throughout his life Might also have been a contributory factor to any domestic violence Don't think there was any doubt that his drinking was a contributory factor in his domestic abuse. Just like a lot of woman abusers. Men too readily play up to the 'laddish image of the people like Dennis Waterman but it's never an excuse.
