Recommend his autobiography Don't You Leave Me Here, heartbreaking and hilarious. Crammed so much into his life. RIP

I don't think Punk Rock in the UK would have happened without the Feelgoods creating a space for it to flourish. Wilko was always so down to earth and humble in interviews, there was no bullshit... just truth.
I remember seeing them on The Geordie Scene TV show in 1975 as a 12 year old School Boy - The Feelgoods looked more like menacing Gangsters from The Sweeney that didn't care if you liked them or not, than a 'Pop Group' in the era of The Bay City Rollers. I was enthralled!

I was enthralled! There some good anecdotes in Alvin Gibbs' book about meeting Lee Brilleaux on a ferry going to the continent. They were all drinking at the bar and they got on like a house on fire and Gibbs described Lee as just an ordinary bloke who boozed down the same pub every week and went to the dog racing with his mates. No airs and graces whatsoever. Gibbs considered them 'men' and not spotty punk teenagers. They could fair shift the pints too.👍

Very sad news. Loved the early Dr Feelgood, but the Solid Senders never seemed to capture the same atmosphere. Nevertheless, I'll give the old LP a spin tonight. RIP Mr Wilkinson

I'd totally forgotten about this gig and it was only about 4 years ago.

I never really watched it but Wilko looked the part in Game of Thrones.
Suitably grumpy.😃
