I very briefly had a Twitter account that I used purely to follow a couple of accounts that I found interesting, The day Musk took over I deleted my account and haven't bothered with it since.
I don't know where he's going with Twitter, or indeed why he really bought it.
Thoughts?

Musk got caught in a binding contract and so had to follow through. It's clearly a match made in hell and he's an unsuitable owner. Then again his track record of improbable success means he might yet turn it round, which is what it needs as it's not profitable.
I like Twitter and have remained on the platform. It's the only social media account that I have having ditched FB and IG years ago (I still miss IG truth be told) but the privacy issues are too extreme plus Zuckerberg doesn't need any more money or subscribers. Actually I do now have a new, low key, anonymous FB account primarily for those businesses that use it instead of a website. V rarely go on there though.
Back to Twitter, I tried Mastodon, which people were turning to immediately after the Musk takeover. It's rubbish.
I go on Twitter most days for about 10-15 minutes. I enjoy the accounts I follow and it's totally tailored to my interests. I've never had any negative experiences but then I don't tend to post much and most of it's neutral except the odd climate emergency/animal welfare post

Never, ever used it and never intend to.
Musk is one of these mega rich millenial freaks(like Zuckerberg)who thinks he's in an alternative reality.
If these two bellends are the future of humanity, God help us.

Never used it or had an account, but don't these things live or die depending on whether they can be used to advertise? Must be my age, but I just don't get the point of those forms of social media, who feels the need to take a photo of their breakfast for others to look at? How desperate for attention would you have to be.

I enjoyed the accounts I followed (mostly anti-Tory stuff) but can't reconcile supporting someone who spends obscene amounts of money on space projects.
Like you, I have an anonymous FB account which I solely use to follow local gig promoters and bands. Basically it's replaced the information that I used to be able to glean from fly-posting.

I don't really get it either but they can have their uses (see my reply to L.E. above).

Frankie Boyle's show 'New World Order' reckons that they really do believe in a dystopian world where 'innovators' and'influencers' like Musk and Zuckerberg will key in the future of humanity with all their virtual nonsense, especially the latter. It's scary that these clowns have the influence and wealth they have.

Musk is banging on about wokeness being a mortal threat to humanity or something. What an edgelord. We already know he is a gutless coward because he got rid of Kanye.
West is obviously a few sandwiches short of a picnic but if you are going to be a free speech warrior you can't pick and choose.

I seem to recall his initial interest was thought to be to strengthen shares in Tesla,he seems to have fucked it up completely now, no longer the world's richest man either although 150 billion ain't to be sniffed at I guess.
