Any New Year resolutions?
Last year mine was to dance more, which proved very successful and which I plan to maintain. This year it's to see more live music and be more adventurous with my gig going. Taking more chances and supporting smaller venues

My dad has been in hospital for the last 12 weeks. Combined with one or two other things I feel on the edge of some kind of breakdown. But he might be released soon, which would be most welcome. I'm not kidding myself that a new year won't be another endless set of hoops to jump through, as life is for many people.

Might have found a decent sized venue in Scarborough, so possibly some named band gigs in 2023. Will be sponsoring Sound of Scarborough festival again, an accompanying vinyl LP will be released at the same time.
Was going to venture out tonight but it's pissing down and I already have the sniffles. Shop open tomorrow anyway, so probably make Match of the Day and then bed.
Have a good one Punkos....

My dad may have to have his leg amputated. Which my mother did 15 years ago after a road accident. But at least he's still alive.
Man, my life is hard. Dark. There are options I have to escape some of my burden but fear tends to get in the way of everything.

I never make resolutions as I never keep them.
I lead quite a good life although I was thinking about this the other night. As we get older it's easier to let friendships slip and there's quite a few people who I haven't seen for ages.
I hate being busy and can be quite a lazy bastard sometimes if I've got nothing to do so for me it's about getting out and about more.π

There are options I have to escape some of my burden but fear tends to get in the way of everything. That's rough mate but there are also solutions. As we get older it's natural to be despondent and reflective. All this 'what if' and 'maybe this', it's actually quite pointless. Try and look beyond the anxiety and fear. What's the worst that can happen-death. Everything else pales into insignicance and generally speaking what you're worried about never really happens anyway. Just train your mind to think in the 'here and now' and not too far ahead and you'll be fineππ

Taking more chances and supporting smaller venues At punk gigs I don't really dance and my stage diving antics are over. I remember the last time I saw GBH and I was up with all the mohicans and spikey tops down the front and it was utter carnage and whilst enjoyable at the time, the next day I felt as if I'd been knocked down. Also, when we were out the other day we walked quite a few miles and my left hip was agony so I think my dancing days might be coming to an end sadly....

Sad to read of your end to dancing rogue I hope they aren't. Given a few drinks, you never know. I just have to be mindful of the consequences....

HNY punk ππ» Here's to a fab 2023 And to you too! We saw the bells in with a glass of water each as Mrs RP has this flu that's kicking about and I only recovered from it a few days ago. We were in our kips for 12.10π Hogmanay used to be good but it's played out now. What used to be a friendly night is like WW3 in town with everyone kicking the shit out of each other....

Happy New Year, to you all!
No resolutions here but a strong urge to continue enjoying life and to not let the bastards grind me down.
