As a 17/18 year old punk, I'd sometimes inconspicuously wander into "Dub Vendor" in West London and have look through the latest dub releases on the Greensleeves label, which was a guarantee of quality at that time.
This is an album from the prolific Scientist, the sleeve of which served for much spliff rolling in my place.

Some mainstream bands actually produced perfectly acceptable albums of their songs "in Dub", Aswad and UB40 being two of them. OK, they weren't heavy manners, serious dread stuff, but they intoduced a lot of unenlightened kids to the cavernous, trippy world of Dub.

I used to pop into the Greensleeves shop in Shepherds Bush from time to time - always great sounds in there. As you say, their output in the late 70s was superb

That Aswad A New Chapter In Dub album is excellent - still one of my all time favourite dub LPs The UB40 efforts are also, as you suggest, suprisingly good

I'm not especially keen on a lot of the newer Digital Dub, but there is some good stuff in that genre if you search for it.
This originally caught my attention due to the vocal sample from The Specials' "Why ?" and remains a decent choon.

Here's another Digital Dub choon which moves me, featuring some squelchy 303 "acid" action (albeit at a suitably sedate pace).
