I admire your optimism but the English don't have the mental courage never mind talent to win a major tournament.
Most decent managers wouldn't touch the England job with a barge pole as they know it would ruin their reputation as the media would have any tournament won before a ball is kicked.
Hence why you're landed with a dud like Southgate. He seems like a nice enough bloke but just hasn't got what it takes.

Never.
Mind you he's a minor lower league manager isn't he?
Don't you think it's a bit of a risk?

Click the link - he's done the lot
Less of a risk than Southgate - I'd say he would be a perfect fit but probably would prefer to stay in club football
He currently manages the team 7th in the Prem who have a wage bill a fraction of most of the rest of the league and which is dwarfted by the big six

I never read Wiki links to be honest.
So what you're saying that he shouldn't pick players from the 'top' 6 and just improve the players outside of it because he's 'used' to working with shite players?
I don't see what relevance that has to international football unless you see England as a WIP?
I don't think the Brexit supporting soccer hooligans who make up the majority of the England support would indulge such a'luxury'.
Do you?

Plenty of them about but can they handle the big stage and intense media pressure?
That's a job in itself.

Wilder ticks all the boxes
Except he'd probably prefer to stay in club football - and who can blame him?

Probably the best thing for him if he wants to avoid sinking without trace never to be seen again😊
