May not be familar to many down south but Johnny Beattie, the last of the great Scottish entertainers has snuffed it.
Probably best known as Malcolm to younger people in the cult Glesga soap'River City' he was the last of the 'all rounders'.
Soaps, pantos, sitcoms, movies...he did it all.
I met him a couple of times through my work with the NHS in Maryhill and I remember he did a wee song and dance routine for my colleague and I(and the other patients)which was almost Vaudevillian!
He was 93 at the time.
A case of 'Now you see him...Now You Don't'!
