Talking of which, what's Dave Parson's motivation in all of this?

Doubt if they were Nazi salutes but imagine if it were Sham. Pot calling the kettle black if you ask me.

Watched the Damned Doc again the other night on Sky Arts. Really enjoyable too.
Vanian and Sensible always come across as nice affable people but Scabies(looking more and more like Curly Watts)and James come across as tired old men full of rock star cliches moaning about money.
I think dear old Rat was secretly jealous of the Captain's 'Happy Talk' success...oh dear๐คฃ

The Black Album is an extraordinary record... the musical scope is vast. From the fast and furious punchy rockers... e.g. 'Hit & Miss' tasteful ballads 'Dr Jeckyl & Mr Hyde' ...to Dave Vanian's extravagant magnum opus 'Curtain Call' which must have confused the f**k out of the gluebag brigade. The Captains love of Psychedelia was in full flow against the backbone of Paul Gray's melodic Rickenbacker bass.
I remember before the album was released, 'History Of The World' was out as a taster on 45. I was really struck by how different it was to anything they'd done before.

Bought it at the time and still give it a blast on a semi regular basis.
A lot of my non punk pal's love the Damned due to the fact that you could never pigeon hole either their sound or song writing ability.
Accessible but they still retain that uniqueness.

I know the Damned reunion tickets seemed steep - to me its a couple of quid per year of their wonderfulness and I want to see them alright. They are pre- doing the big shows for 30 quid a pop during June..

Rat is far from a bitter fellow about the Damned.,,and neither is Brian...but I think that the sensible take over might rankle...rightly so.
