We seem to have moved from the position of a team expecting to fight relegation each year to one expecting to finish between half way and the play offs. Away form needs to be better and Rowett needs to be more positive going forward (not sure that is in his DNA though) It's the final 3rd and a good strike rate that would put us in the play offs. All said though, we have a lower budget than most and have never received the grossly uncompetitive "parachute payments" and I don't even really want promotion as it pretty much destroys every club it touches, if not financially then by removing it from the community and stripping everything it ever had that was unique about it. |

A good 3 points and a first half hat trick against Watford last night, followed by a very professional 2nd half performance of containment. Watford for me are typical of a relegated EPL team, full of overpaid ball jugglers with no bottle for physical 1 on 1 football.
Really is a conundrum when you want to win every game but you have no wish to go up to the EPL which I largely don't enjoy watching all that much (the odd throwback game like City v Liverpool the other day aside).
We have the 16th place budget so any finish above 16th is punching above our weight, I'll take that.

Nice 3 points picked up away at Watford to do the double over them. No doubt their squad cost 150 million+ more than ours but I guess you can't buy "bottle".

The table is so insane, nearly half the League is within 4/6 points of each other. The top 2 seem nailed on, can only keep plugging away. SHOULD be a comfortable win at home to Rotherham in a few hours but taking nothing for granted. Also difficult when you want to win but don't want to be promoted. |

Agree Burnley under Kompany look a totally different side Amazing reinvention Sheffield United also looking pretty damn accomplished |
