Anyone else watching the FA Cup Final on Saturday at 5 pm?
It's on BBC1 so should get a good size viewing audience
Plus it's two teams with in form attackers and leaky defences
These final rarely live up to the hype but this could be a goodie
Arsenal are underdogs but I've got a sneaky feeling they might just do it despite their defensive frailities. Hope so.

Shutting up half an hour early to get back for this. Will be rooting for the Gunners as Chelsea already have a European spot. If Arteta picks Pepe, Lacazette and Aubameyang it could put too much pressure on the ponderous Blues back four.

I'm no expert on English fitba but I hate Chelsea and their connections to the huns but then again Arteta is an ex hun too.
Arsenal are one of football's dullest teams but if Tierney plays they're in with a chance.
2-1 to the Gunners👍

Tierney has been brilliant in the last few games
Good to see him back at full fitness
He also recently turned up at a game with a Tesco bag (whilst most of the other players have expensive designer crap) which has really endeared to the fans

Wonder what was in it?😊
That kid will go a long way for you.
Brave, kind and modest guy too.
Great footballer and good role model.

There was a lot of half and half Arsenal/Celtic hats back in the late 70s
Arsenal traditionally have a big Irish support as lots of Irish people lived round Holloway back then
I remember a few Rangers fans remarking on it to me in the 1990s. They still remembered it, and weren't happy!

When I was living in Hackney in the late 80's I went to Highbury a couple of times to check out the North Bank.
Aye, Arsenal had a lot of Irish players/ supporters but they were never my English team back then as that accolade went to Nottingham Forest.
The difference is that Celtic is a more political club and distinctively Irish.
Whenever I'm 'home' with Mrs Roguepunk even though a lot of Irish people like English football, most have a soft spot for Celtic because of what the club means to them culturally.

Theres no doubt about it Arsenal were one of the great English teams of the early 70's. The only comparable team was Leeds Utd who I also had a soft spot for.
I was never that keen on Man Utd even though there was an affinity between their supporters and ours.
However I do respect Alex Ferguson he took no prisoners when it came to making Man Utd the best.

Anybody else got that offer from Bet365 of a free £50 in-play bet on this fixture?

Not me Smog, but then I'm not registered for any gambling sites so not sure how they would contact me
I'd ignore it if I did
Occasionally I have a theoretical bet when I feel confident of being able to predict a few results. I've never won. There's always one unexpected outcome. Gambling's a major issue in society, and that's because there's only ever going to be one winner, but the gambling companies are adept at making their punters believe otherwise

Match of the Day punditry beckons for you Roguey 😀 We watched it in a Celtic pub in the town and the punters were just cheering on Arsenal to do it. Quality second goal but a ridiculous amount of stoppage time and it was good to see Lampard getting it tight. Arsenal's forward play just was too incisive, dunno who's who really but good game overall.

Mind you Mrs Roguepunk loves the races but it's the Sport of Kings to me.
