I always look for common ground but I call it as I see it.

I always look for common ground but I call it as I see it. Even with those you perceive to be right wing or fascist?

What surprises me is that Roguey considers the SNP to be to the left of Labour – I certainly wouldn't. I'd say they're significantly to the right of the Corbynite version of Labour, at the very least.
They're leftist in the same sense as the Isle of Man Government – which they consider as something of a role model, with Alex Salmond having been very friendly with our former Chief Minister Allan Bell and Nicola Sturgeon putting in the odd appearance now. By that I mean that both governments support generous social security provision, but paid for by attracting international business and running an offshore economy. Another role model for Scotland is Ireland, and I suspect an independent Scotland would very quickly copy Ireland's 12.5% rate of corporate tax.
In fact, I'd put money on an independent Scotland being a full-blown offshore business centre, with an economy based around financial services, online gaming and the likes, within five years of leaving the UK.

If you reread my post I never said 'the SNP'. I said the 'left of the SNP'.I'm under no illusions that the SNP are a socialist party. They are to the left of Labour as essentially Labour has always been an out and out capitalist party whether its Blairite right or Corbyn left. The only fuds who don't realise this are the people who pretend that they're progressive. I'm an SNP voter and have never been a member and never will be. Republican Socialist in the mould of McLean and Connolly ideologically but I'm not a doctrinnaire socialist either.

During my former incarnation on this site, I would regularly vent spleen with long, vitriolic political posts.
My philosophy and views haven't mellowed much with age. If we must apply labels, I'm to the Left of the Labour Party (even under Corbyn) but with pronounced libertarian tendencies that aren't often associated with the Left.
I won't be adding any rants to this thread unless I feel absolutely compelled to do so. Although politics still makes me incandescent with anger, production of fierce political/moral screeds is detrimental to my psychological stability. I have to remain functional with the assistance of anti-depressant medication and self control has become more important to me than the opportunity to rage against the dying of the light.

For me, it's just a point of view on a message board and thats where it starts and stops.
I always keep it in perspective as I have lots of opinions on lots of things aside from politics.
I don't necessarily feel compelled to comment on everything thats 'political' either as it doesn't define me as a person.
It's important to keep it grounded too.
That said, I'll comment on anything that I think needs an intervention as it seems to me that there is a consensus on here which isn't necessarily a left wing one.

The Kunts – who are basically punk rock internet legend Kunt and the Gang + 3 of his former bandmates from many years are heading for the xmas number one. The track jumped from No.19, to No.8 on the daily charts, and is sitting at No.2 on Amazon and iTunes. Mr. Kunt has previously got a record of sorts by (we think) charting the most offensively titled song by the most offensively titled artist ever…we think…but this could be a xmas number one… FAQs
What about Streaming? Does that help.
YES but download as well if you can!!!
Paid Streaming account (Spotify etc.): 100 streams = 1 sale Unpaid streaming account: 600 streams = 1 sale If I leave the song streaming on repeat all night / day is that helpful? Yes! Please make a playlist of all the versions - one being repeated might flag up on the system. DON’T MUTE IT - that doesn’t count!
The song is only 1 minute long so every 100 minutes or so will count as 1 sale.
What else can I do? Save the picture below and use as your Social Media Avatar.
Please share the videos and spread the word on your WhatsApp groups and Social media. Do it multiple times as the week goes on (18-24 Dec), people sometimes need a little chivvy along.
If I buy all the versions will they all count as sales? Yes
If I buy on iTunes and Amazon do they both count as sales? Yes
Why iTunes and Amazon? They are evil corporations. This is all being run by one bloke in his shed with no advertising budget. Most people buy their downloads from iTunes and Amazon and their real-time download charts will be a big factor in people finding out about the song as the week goes on. The Amazon links are at least ‘Smile’ links so raise money for St. Luke’s Hospice Basildon.
Why are you doing this? Boris Johnson is a fucking cunt and by the way he behaves I’m just not sure anyone has ever told him.
Come on now, surely Boris is doing as well as anyone could do under very difficult circumstances? Oh fuck off.

Are KATG a punk band? The Toy Dolls and even ?! The Macc Lads had that punk sound but Kunt is just some bloke faffing about with a Casio. Not heard the song, don't want to, merely reflective of the surreal times we live in. I'll stick to Dylan and Justin Sullivan for a lyrical take on world events.

It's nonsense. The most rudimentary tune imaginable with the song title repeated in a sing song, nursery rhyme kinda way
That said, the inner school kid in all of us must chuckle at a song called Boris Johnson is a Fucking Cunt being the UK's number one single at Xmas
