Nancy lived in New York as far as I can recall.
Mickmada and I realised through posts on the forum that we'd been at the same gigs in 77, Buzzcocks and Clash at Derby, Stranglers Leicester etc. He was writing a book on his punk life. Pretty sure he emigrated to Australia.

We've been extremely lucky with the membership here – everybody has been very nice and pretty easy-going.
The closest we've had to actual trolls were probably Qrobur and Venus Eccentric, and by the standards of internet trolls both were incredibly genteel.

I didn't know Mick emigrated He was from Liverpool and had some great anecdotes about the Liverpool scene Not to be confused with Mick Mercer, who also used to post, and who has put out many a compendium of his photos of the scene - a lot of early punk, Goth, post-punk etc Goth seemed to be his speciality Here's his website... www.mickmercer.com/Turns out he has also written a novel... The Old Lady Who Invented GothAlongside his many other books and articles

Didn’t somebody upset MsDayglo? I seem to remember her getting the hump about something. That was all linked to the great schism Some robust moderating by MsD was a contributory factor in people leaving. She may have even banned one or two. Can't remember now. I imagine it was all quite unpleasant for her, just as it was for the people on the other side of the argument. Great shame, whichever way you cut it

My recollection of the details is hazy, but I think it was a similar theme to Joey vs Dabble, triggered by a new female member attempting to justify poor people mugging better off people or something like that. It somehow escalated into an almighty clusterf*** with an orgy of bannings and people storming off never to return. Shame cos we lost some good people like Ian Part Time and Ged Babey I remember Ando. A bit conservative but seemed OK to me. I remember you and him getting into it on a regular basis, though He and Dabble went at hammer and tong when Dabble alluded to the idea that he had bought his wife in Thailand.🙂 Well it was a bit near the knuckle. I'm all for the cut & thrust of debate but people's families are off limits IMO.

People shouldn't personalise debate but both Ando and Joey started it, very nasty. Lots of British men are into that shit by the way as are other Europeans.

The members list still works on the old site, and reveals some interesting statistics, eg, most prolific poster = Nigey www.punk77.co.uk/talkpunk/memberlist.php...who was the fella that played in Department S? was it 'Lost Follower' ?

I remember you and him getting into it on a regular basis, though Ando was another right wing ex punk who slagged off immigrant workers coming into the UK but was one himself in Thailand. He and Dabble went at hammer and tong when Dabble alluded to the idea that he had bought his wife in Thailand.🙂 This incensed him. Wonder if he did or not....and was just denying it. Who knows🙂 Bit of a selective memory there, old bean! But seeing how we're all older and wiser (and removed to a new site), let's let bygones be bygones and start afresh, eh? Good to see a lot of old faces on here. Hoping everyone is in good health and spirits.?
