Anyone a fan ? Just rewatched Mid Morning Matters series 1 , better than I remembered. I think the audio version of We Need To Talk About Alan was possibly the pinnacle . The recent TV series was oddly mediocre but From the Oasthouse something of a return to form.

Fair enough. Despite trying for a mainstream appeal it still had some classic Partridge moments, and some of it was laugh out loud funny.
I could watch/read/listen to AP doing pretty much anything.

To be honest, other than playing Stan Laurel in the Laurel and Hardy movie a couple of years ago I find Steve Coogan as funny as an itchy arse on a summers day.
Especially in his Alan Partridge persona.
He's so contrived.
Think I would rather go to a London musical in the West End before I'd watch anything by him.
It was only my love of Laurel and Hardy that drew me to the movie as I initially thought it's going to be total pish with this diddy in it.

There's enough cringe inducing people in real life without putting the telly on.

Yes. I can understand that reaction
Lady E cannot bear Larry David in Curb Your Enthusiasm - another classic cringe inducing character, I on the other hand.....

The jockey joke is rather poor Agreed The gold is when Alan is adlibbing during the rain Especially love the two girls playing and Alan adds "let's hope that doesn't turn to bloody, mindless violence"
