There's a few great docs on Bob and the Wailers -makes me wonder why anyone would bother with a biopic

It's a bit of a reductionist theory but I am of the opinion that docs are usually close to the truth whereas biopics are how particular parties want you to see the person. It's well documented that Marley (like most Rastaman) had problems with Gays. You can't put that in a biopic in 2024.
Is this going to join the likes of Stardust (Bowie) and Bohemian Rhapsody?

Quite a coded review, read between the lines and Kermode doesn't think it's up to much. I know I'm just a white boy but if you've seen the docs or read Catch A Fire, you know this is not in their ballpark at all. Waiting for a 'wasn't he misunderstood' biopic on Keith Moon....

Apparently the film is already showing a profit. Shows that many many cinema goers do not want authenticity, but something more varnished.
