Stuart Maconie has just given that Bubblerock 2 a mention on the Freakzone and played the full version of the track below which by the end drifts off into avant garde prog. The single edit leaves that out and is all the better for it imo. Julian the Hooligan - great title, great song

I think we've had this one before
It's on Bubblerock 2 but I was already familiar with it from Can The Glam
How was this not a massive hit?
It's a real Glam banger....

A few weeks back, me and Womblin' Glam Timmy were in our favourite Charity Shop trawling through the vinyl, when Tim waved a Music For Pleasure comp by 'The Waddy' under my nose from the Bargain Bins... and uttered the immortal words, "there's some great songs on this!" ...hmmm, i thought ...maybe? but it was only £1.50, so worth investigating.
So i bought it... sure, some of it is rather cheesie bobbins, but Timmy was right about the rest of it! Before they became a household name churning out lightweight covers, their early recordings had more depth to them, m'thinks...

It's a shame they became so anodyne so quickly but from what I've heard of some of the early stuff it's pleasing glam tinged rock n roll The Party is a winner

...yeah, the mix on the Bass and Guitars on some of the early 'Waddy' recordings has real bite to it. They take it up a couple of notches here, on this early Rocker

Another goodie Andy
You've also got Rock N Roll Lady on that debut which is a lot of fun (crazy Euro show clip alert)...
Their version of Johnny Remember Me on that debut album is quite something too...
