Glam Rock books

Don't think I've ever read a book more in need of a good editor than this one, goes off down so many blind alleys that you want to scream. Much 6th form philosophising and manages to make the cardinal mistake of thinking that his own opinion on various artists output has some sort of value as anything other than being his own opinion.
   I stayed the course as there was good stuff there amongst the over written pages long debates on whether or not Bowie was a wanna be fascist because of the "thin white Duke" etc, etc ad nauseum. There's probably a very good 400 page book hidden inside the dreary 700 page one I read.

funny thing was that as I was just putting it down with blessed relief I noticed that he thanked his wife for stopping him going down "blind alleys". Fuck knows what the book could have been like. May have just been vol 1 of 10.
