I remember them but cannot claim to have been a fan They still sound pretty good though - very much of their time (but what a time it was) I had this as a 45 rpm..... Morning SirAnd this one was on the NME's C86 cassette Run To The Temple

As Ian says in his review...
They sounded like nothing else – not like Captain Beefheart, not like the Fall really and those were the artists people likened them to. Of all the bands I’ve heard of since, though they sound nothing like each other, the only band I could compare their appeal to is the American band Flipper – in that they had a similar “like us or not, we don’t care” approach and existed totally in their own world. And people that dig them really dig them, there are no half measures.

I was always intrigued by their song titles, Fat Lad Exam Failure conjures up a myriad of images. But one of those bands over promoted by the NME and if you listen to three songs in a row, there's little variation, tight tuned bass intro, biscuit tin drums, monotonous vocal. If that was your thing, The Fall, Wedding Present, Nightingales did it better.

I bet Peelie played this band alot - hard to describe their sound, but there is something of a Post-Punk/deconstructed Rockabilly feel to their music

Groups like them and all the other C86 dross the press were touting were the reason I gave up on new music around that time
