Jet?
Waht's yer verdict?
I loves em
Formed in 1974 with a line-up of Andy Ellison (vocals, ex-John's Children), Martin Gordon (bass, ex-Sparks), Chris Townson (drums, formerly in John's Children and Jook), David O'List (lead guitar, ex-member of The Nice and an early member of Roxy Music) and Peter Oxendale (keyboards for a short-lived live version of Sparks)
Dropped by CBS in 1975 due to poor sales, they split up in 1976 during sessions for a second album.
O'List and Oxendale were replaced by guitarist Ian MacLeod. Subsequent sessions at Island Studios resulted in four recordings which were rejected by Island Records[1][2] but welcomed by Chiswick Records. The band changed their name to Radio Stars and found themselves redefined by the press as a punk/new wave band.
And what about Radio Stars?
I'm pretty keen on them n all

LOVE'em both ...JET's one and (sadly) only album was produced by Roy Thomas Baker and is gloriously whacky, witty & rockin' - I have it on vinyl & CD, plus a CD of rariities.
Radio Stars gigs were the stuff of legend, with Andy Ellison reprising as acrobatic lunacy from his Johns Children days. With their demise, bass player Martin Gordon went on to form the shortlived Blue Meanies and released this wonderful single in 1980...

Can't recall Jet but the Radio Stars were great. Fantastic run of Chiswick singles, Nervous Wreck, Dirty Pictures and No Russians in Russia EP. Songs For Swinging Lovers LP was one to put on when you needed a break from 1,2,3,4 spike tops. Martin Gordon talks: martingordon.de/interviews/stop-it/

I read a couple of Martin Gordon's articles on his site. He comes across as witty and articulate.
It appears he was treated rather shoddily by the Mael brothers.
