Coould not agree more Stu
Sadly FIFA are fighting a rearguard action against the increasing dominance of the club game (esp the UEFA comps) and trying to find ways of making even more money
I guess if it happened the European Champs and other regional comps would have to go, which would be a great shame. I can't see it happening.
Football is truly trying to eat itself
Non League is where it's at

I guess when you are a power and money mad sociopath your definition of success is imposing your will on millions of people who disagree with you FIFA president Gianni Infantino accused those opposed to altering the frequency of the World Cup to every two years of being scared of change and wanting to keep their elevated status in the game as Africa on Friday backed the plans.
In a veiled dig at confederations in Europe and South America, who have come out against the plan to change the current four-year-cycle, Infantino said they did not want things to change because they were at the top of the sport.www.wionews.com/sports/fifa-president-gianni-infantino-says-those-opposed-to-world-cup-change-scared-432198

Great. Hope they do go on strike. The amount of football is just ridiculous. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c2jjmn7ex4voFootball's world governing body Fifa has been warned players are willing to go on strike if they continue to be overworked. Professional Footballers’ Association chief executive Maheta Molango believes players are now at breaking point. The PFA has been calling for action to alter the congested football calendar, especially with the expanded 32-team Club World Cup proposed for next summer.
