On Radio 2.
Some of us might think that Johnnie is just an old fogey who does the 1970's show on a Sunday afternoon but we were out for a drive earlier and tuned in to hear the auld Dodger rattle off a few tunes.
We were pleasantly surprised to hear Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine-amongst other things-talk about Joe Strummer in the 'Rock Gods' section of the show.
Not that Strummer was ever a 'Rock God'but it was well worth hearing.
I suspect this will be available on the BBC's website.

Must admit, I thought he'd passed a few years back. Glad to hear he's still thriving.

Must admit, I thought he'd passed a few years back. Glad to hear he's still thriving. Dave Vanian has been on Johnnie's 70's show a couple of times and both times it was very good. More like a relaxed chat and JW didn't ask the usual predictable questions about the Damned and the Pistols in 77 which has been done to death.

He moved to Cali in the late 70s and even had some involvement with the punk scene I believe.
Think he was at the Winterland Pistols gig.
