A rather mean-spirited alternative to the "Something that made you laugh" thread, dedicated to hackneyed, repetitious and plain godawful "jokes" with which you keep getting bombarded.
For the last couple of days, it's been "gazpacho".
American politician (and blatant fucking loony) Marjorie Taylor Green used the word "gazpacho" when she meant "Gestapo" and my many left-wing American friends think this is the funniest thing ever. (Well, the funniest thing since Donald Trump typed "covfefe" instead of "coffee" – that was obviously the funniest thing ever, as I encountered the word for weeks on Facebook.)
Gazpacho recipes… pictures of Nazis with the word "gazpacho"… I'm clearly in for days of this hilarity. For the love of God, please make it stop.

Ditching social media a couple of years ago has many advantages - and negligible downsides

I fucking hate shit like that, she’s a far-right crank and a well established “space cadet” as you would put it lol. It’s like when Trump tweeted “covfefe” and people started making shirts of his spelling mistakes, God truly is dead. Edit: in my haste I didn’t even read the second part of your post haha!

I've just been reminded of an even worse, less funny and more long-running "joke" when reading the comments section in The Guardian.
Its readers think it is extremely clever to change Jacob Rees-Mogg's surname to something they imagine to be amusing whenever they mention him. Most of these attempts at wordplay don't even rhyme with Rees-Mogg and don't mean anything.
I've just seen the worst ever, notwithstanding: Eel-Mug. These deranged Guardianistas think calling someone an "eel" is somehow both funny and insulting.

That's crazy. Where was it?
We just had cracker night here last Saturday night. We are the last place in Australia that allows people to buy and let off their own fireworks. People fly in from interstate just to spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars on fireworks. Nothing as crazy as that video happened as far as I know of, but there were multiple spot fires, some people copped bad burns and one bloke lost a hand
