Carl Perkins' birthday today. He died in 1998 aged 65. They played a 1997 interview with him on the radio this morning. The interviewer's only line of questioning was things like, when did you first meet Elvis, what did you think of Elvis when you first saw him live etc. Carl took it all good-naturedly, but what an insult. This is the man who wrote one of Elvis' most famous early hits. Take it away Carl:
