I don't know. There are quite a few records there I think I would enjoy. On the other hand, there are not many there that I do not already own that I think I must now possess. Anyway, it's all a big con according to PU, isn't it?

We have our Easter Record Fair here in Scarborough a week before Record Store Day. The Easter Fair has been a fixed date for the past nine years whereas RSD flits about the year. I had some dick in the other week moaning that my fair was going to impact on Store Day sales, I turned on him and rubbished RSD with similar arguments from that article, poor bloke was lost for words. I occasionally have people coming in to buy from the new vinyl sections just for collecting as they don't have a turntable, WTF! I much prefer customers who buy to listen than buy to collect.
I'm sure I've said it before but here it is again: Last year there was a Clash double 10" release that was just tracks from Sandinista with some interviews tacked on, hardly essential. Yet young up and coming bands are having to wait a year to get their material pressed.

Just another corporate rip off with a friendly face, Companies scraping the barrels for stuff that gets snapped up and immediately appears on E-Bay grossly overpriced. about the only day I definitely wouldn't go near a record shop.

I have got used to any pre release I order direct from even "mid table" bands getting pushed back due to pressing plant delays. The big companies just block book the presses it appears.

Blondie's Sunday Girl is £21.99. No other tracks just French, demo and live versions. You can have the original from my shop, excellent condition, picture sleeve with I Know But Don't Know on the flip for 2 quid. Madness.

Madness. 100% I don't understand the mentality of someone who would want to own a £20 single just because it's a limited edition So long as I can hear the tune I'm happy

Get as many copies of that Mr Benn album as you can Stu. Keep them in their original shrink wrap, stored upright, away from excessive damp and heat....and in ten years they'll be worth absolutely nothing.

I should add that I actually play the records I buy on RSD.

Must be a money spinner for the shops that do. I don't want that kind of person in my shop Stu. I can make plenty of moolah by flogging obscure Vertigo swirl label prog to middle aged men who don't know what day it is.
