Not an easy article to read but it suggests the Bandera symbolism is more nuanced that Bragg suggests (he tends to deal in overly simplistic tribes in my view)...

Do you ever get the feeling society is insane ? There are people who will lie to tens of millions of people on very serious,life-risking subjects just to further their own agenda. Or even just to be mischievous.

Do you ever get the feeling society is insane ? Since 1979 Stu, when Jon Pilger uncovered the Khmer Rouge genocide. It might seem wrong to some people but I just shrug my shoulders when someone mentions Ukraine. |

Ukraine says a top Russian soldier took his own life after realising how weak his unit’s reserve vehicles were. Kyiv said the commander killed himself when he learned that 90% of tanks in reserve were unusable and un-serviceable because parts had been stolen. In claims that have not been verified, Ukraine said some tanks did not even have engines or had been almost completely dismantled. Throughout the invasion, Russia has been exposed as being far weaker than previously thought becoming bogged down in a protracted battle which many onlookers believed could have lasted a matter of days. Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence said the invaders were struggling and the ‘problem of the impossibility of restoring equipment after “deconservation” from warehouses’. Throughout the invasion, Russia has been exposed as being far weaker than previously thought russia is a joke in conventional military terms. This was known before the current conflict. They do have 6000 nuclear warheads though, and Putin won't hesitate to deploy them if things don't go his way |
