You're a young fella and shouldn't be thinking of such things.
Leave that to the old codgers ๐

Around this time of year for some reason I always think about the last few weeks of school in 1984. It's so vivid in my memory - going to London for the weekend, being punched and losing teeth after a house party , witnessing a riot at a football match, walking out of the school gates for the last time on a grey dull day. All the songs that were in the charts. I suppose I'm becoming increasingly aware of my own mortality. I have not achieved much in my life but I'm now aware that this is not really important in the scheme of things. No one can ever know you as much as you know yourself and as the saying goes , before you judge someone walk a mile in their shoes.

I reckon it's natural to be more reflective of your life as you get older.
Sometimes you ponder certain events but for me they don't linger and I'm including some of the most traumatic events unless you dwell on them.
Living in some twilight between life and death stops you from living your life to the full.
Considering some of the trauma that other people go through I would say personally that I'm quite lucky.
However, you have to make things happen for yourself.
You can always change it. There's always an answer.

Had my own brush with death a few hours ago! I wiped out while on a bike and now my hip, elbow and foot are aching quite a bit but I still managed to cycle home. I guess it wasnโt my time, lol!

I think you'll be here for a long time Smog.๐
When I was younger I never even thought about death and when someone died it never really had the effect on me then as it has now.
I didn't understand it as I never contemplated it. Funnily enough, we've been to a few cemeteries recently for some anniversaries as even though I'm not a morbid person, they always fascinate me.

Scarborough had two suicides yesterday, one on the seafront and one in the centre of town, both jumpers from high buildings. This is becoming a regular occurrence here. One from the Spa Bridge a fortnight ago and an attempt which was successfully resolved just round from the corner of my shop last week. This does not even make the local news and the police just put an 'incident' on their media feeds. There is an argument that plastering it all over social media is disrespectful to the families of those concerned, however, not acknowledging this increase and the lack of mental help services is worse imo.

Suicide is, sadly, the number one cause of death amongst young men
Shocking indictment

I think they are trying to cover up the real scale of suicide. Regularly I read inquest news reports where obvious suicides are ranked misadventure or suchlike.

We had another railway suicide today. They are regular. One reason why I'm in favour of voluntary assisted suicide for people who are seriously mentally suffering.
I sincerely believe life is not worth it for many people nowadays. It's a cruel atomised existence for the unlucky part of society. The option of assisted suicide would also I believe give many a great comfort and actually make it easier to live.

Railway is a popular one because your chances of surviving are basically zero and itโs quick and painless. Makes people late for work also.

Death is not the worst thing that can happen to you. In some ways, yes but it's all relative. I mean, what about all the young people who've died who never got to experience their lives? I've known a few people who've died who never got out their early 20's.

I think it was Spike Milligan who said that his every waking moment was painful due to his depression and yet he never committed suicide. As I've said previously, there is always to an answer and that includes how you feel.
