Looks like a historic day in Ireland as Sinn Fein look to become the biggest party North and South.
The unionist vote is floundering but interestingly, it's the shades within unionism which will lead to it's long awaited political dissolution.👍

As well you know, I take a scrupulously nonsectarian stance with regard to the matter of the north of Ireland, but anything which hastens the downfall of the Orange pigs is cause for celebration.

I’d pro-reunification of Ireland but admittedly I don’t know a great deal about the subject.
Also, I’m not sure how much longer the U.K. will be around for before it’s smaller parts all choose to leave but I think it will likely happen in my lifetime

Hopefully the Tories now realise Johnson is too much of a liability

The language is a lot more conciliatory these days Zeo, even within the bigots of the DUP. Although, this isn't through choice as underneath they're just the same horrible bastards but Northern society has moved on from pre 1969 Orange Apartheid. However, the quicker dinosaurs like Poots, Donaldson, Wilson and Campbell are consigned to the dustbin of history, the better.

SInn Fein are tenacious yet patient but a border poll is some way off yet but this is the next stage and it will happen. Conversely, the SNP are a conservative nationalist party who have no idea what the British State is capable of. What do we expect from a party which wants to keep the British queen as head of state in an independent Scotland?

Hung parliament based on current predictions These elections will be forgotten very, very quickly. Time enough for the Tories to play their rancid race card. Its no coincidence they were all over Starmer for beergut sorry 'beergate' immediately after the elections.

Yeah, shame about Beergate as it takes the sting out of his criticisms of Johnson Mail going big on it but still get the sense that the outrage from Partygate will stick around Feels more likely that the Tories will move to oust Johnson and then they have a problem of who to appoint Meanwhile still looking good for Sinn Fein... news.sky.com/story/stormont-counting-underway-in-northern-ireland-election-with-sinn-fein-braced-for-historic-victory-12606831

The hard right press will always focus on any slip ups. It shows how naive Starmer is.
A lot of these lockdown restrictions were unnecessary at the time and having a pint at a window is nothing compared to what the Tories were up to.
The point is that they KNEW they had nothing to fear from Covid.
It's all about control of the masses and especially the privatisation of the NHS.
As for SF, they are streets ahead of the old free state parties and the stuffy unionist parties in the North.
Young, relevant and women led. They couldn't be more different from the old boys club of Irish politics since partition.☘👍
