Aye, hell slap it into them. Selfish, reckless behaviour. I wouldn't risk my life in that way, but if other people want to do so then that's their choice.

A couple of pal's of mine have been a few times and Mrs RP's cousin has took part in it.
Last thing you'd want to do is avoid that going out for the morning paper.....

A friend of mine, whom I met for dinner this evening, managed to get trapped on the wrong side of the course: he went for an early lunch at a local pub, didn't realise that the roads were closing and then couldn't get back home for six hours, even though it was only 10 minutes' walk away. Instead, he spent six hours watching the racing from the beer garden and ended up bright pink. There is a footbridge to cross back that's no more than five minutes' walk in a different direction, but he didn't manage to find it. This evening, he decided to eat the whole chilli garnishing the curry we had and then had to get the restaurant owner to give him a plate of cucumber as he couldn't cope with the heat. I wonder about him sometimes.)

Do any pedestrians die? In the clip I watched it looked like there were people walking on or standing on the footpath. Madness

Do any pedestrians die? In the clip I watched it looked like there were people walking on or standing on the footpath. Madness It has been known for spectators to be killed. Until 10 or 15 years ago, you could stand anywhere at the roadside and watch the racing. That changed after an incident in which a bike lost control and ploughed into the crowd, killing (if I remember rightly) five people. It was in the last lap of the last race and until that point there had been no deaths at all, which would have been a first for many years. Now there are certain areas where it's forbidden to stand, and of course it's illegal to try to cross the road during a race, though a couple of idiots try it every year and get heavily fined or locked up.

Looked at going to Upfest this weekend, but then apathy won, at least for today. Possibly go tomorrow. I'd welcome a review if that's possible, as I haven't been for a few years. Will watch the football tonight. It was a blast, did you make it, wardance?
Some incredible artists working in the park plus all the great street graffiti en route. The park was a mellow vibe, artists, DJ's, dogs, people, food, drink...
Roll on next year.
I didn't go unfortunately. Thanks for the links, and glad you enjoyed it.

Just realised this thread was for last weekend, lol. Ye I went yesterday, I’ll be uploading some of the live footage to my YT channel later. Pints were £6.50 and somebody tried to charge me £15 for a pinger, sadly had my AFX umbrella confiscated on the way in as well. Got there at about 5pm and I didn’t actively watch the first couple of acts, Kasabian were okay but their music was fairly average even before they kicked the wife beater off the mic, mostly FIFA singalong stuff. LG & Oasis also not my thing usually but it was a great show and being so deep in such a huge and lively crowd was quite an experience.

Friday afternoon went looking for a new bike and ended up in the pub-possibly not the best idea in retrospect but it was a lovely day for some cocktails.
Saturday afternoon. Went and seen my mate and his 3 week old newborn on another glorious afternoon.
And today Mrs RP was over seeing her pal's new granddaughter.
So it was a weekend for the weans.

Glad you enjoyed the festival experience, I had to google what a pinger was lol.
