Johnny Depp has won his multimillion-dollar US lawsuit against former wife Amber Heard after a Virginia jury ruled a 2018 article published in The Washington Post was defamatory.
He was awarded $15m by the court - comprising $10m compensatory damages and a further $5m in punitive damages - but the judge capped the punitive damages total in accordance with legal limits, resulting in a total of $10.35m.

The social media campaign against Heard has been absolutely horrendous. I'm honestly not convinced that she's lying because I don't see what she gains from that. Then again she has various personality disorders according to one the experts who testified so I suppose she is capable of any kind of dishonesty and maliciousness. A devastating day for victims of domestic abuse and sexual abuse . A certain kind of person who thinks they are all liars (especially when accusing powerful or famous people) will have been emboldened. |

So;
Two extremely rich people have differences that they're too stupid to sort out amongst themselves.
They go to court and ruin any reputation that they may have had.
They redistribute amongst themselves a fortune which is clearly jut small change in their worlds.
Lawyers get rich.
Papers get click-bait.

Can't say I care much either way, but the fact that all his ex's have lined up to say they don't believe it for a second should stand for something. There is usually a long pattern of abuse with those type of people. I do find myself uncomfortable with the new way of things that careers can be destroyed on heresay in the rush for everyone to be seen as "woke" for want of a better word.
The fact that Depp was so determined to litigate these claims and bring up unpleasant facts about himself when the easy thing would have been to just keep his head down also counts for something in my eyes.
