This was probably the last project Cathal worked on. It gets mentioned in that obituary from Louder Than War.
I think i posted on the old T.P. i was (still am) a HUGE fan of the Irish band Compulusion, who released two albums a couple of e.p.’s and then split up in the late 90s. I was friends with their guitarist Garret (Jacknife) Lee, who went on to become a superstar producer working with everyone from U2, R.E.M., Weezer, Taylor Swift, Neil Diamond and many more. Over the years, i lost contact with Garret, but in 2008 my friend David Barbe worked with him on the demos of the R.E.M. album ‘Accelerate’ in Athens Georgia and i was flattered to be told, he did remembered me.
In lockdown he and Cathal worked together on this project. I bought the album recently on vinyl but there are also a myriad of great remixes not on the album… including this ACE and rather haunting collaboration with Jah Wobble…

This is alot of variety - mostly Electronica, a nod to Kraftwerk with some of the vocals (Jacknife's) This is rather funky and groovy!

Love that Thanks Andy And how good is that video too?

...yes, it is very effective and compilments the mood of the song perfectly. As Garret and Cathal are both Irish (Dublin and Cork) i guess that is why the archive footage and album artwork they have sourced touches heavily upon religion (Catholic?) and historic traditions The album version of 'Falun Gong Dancer' is stripped down to just piano and vocals and is rather beautiful.

...well, i only listen to the very best! This is a recent and rare interview with Garret where he mentions the Telefis collaboration. Considering the circles he's moved in over the years, he's remarkably down to earth and candid about his life since moving to the USA...
