Who is the most notable person from your hometown or where you now live? You can see the answer with this interactive map.
As with all such things, this is totally subjective. The results are collated from length of wikipedia entries and such like. Still interesting, nevertheless

lol at seeing Julie Burchill there. Perhaps they should define 'notable!

Lots of notable have landmarks named after them, buildings, roads, even airports. In her case I suggest a drainage network. The Julie Burchill Sewerage System has a nice ring to it and people will remember what she contributed to society after she's gone.

Perhaps they should define 'notable! Well they do, wikipedia.
Never said it was quality!
Where I live lists Jessica Mauboy (who?, you say). She's a 'singer'. The only alternative is Edward Steele. Never heard of him, but apparently a famous immunologist
Part of the problem could be that lots of people who might be famous in a certain town/city are not originally from that place. Or they are famous in certain circles, but not in their place of origin
