Does anyone watch this?
Myself and Mrs Roguepunk have been tuning in to it (more at her behest to be honest).
Interesting in parts and Dougie Henshall is a capable actor but his character in this has to be one of the most morose TV detectives put on screen.
The storylines are overlong too insofar that you don't just get confused and disinterested (to the point where you're counting the leaves on the plant sitting in the corner of the room)but irritated that you could actually do something else more productive and interesting.
3/10-mostly for some of the scenary.

Tried to watch it once and found it depressingly plodding. Probably only gave it quarter of an hour but that was long enough.

I don't know if the idea is to make it as depressingly bleak as Shetland itself(the islands have no trees) but it gives that impression.
I knew a few Shetland punks and I bet they would be up in arms about this portrayal of their islands as they were really positive people.
The sub-plots are equally depressing and whilst tackling the heartache of dementia is a laudable sentiment, it exists in isolation to the actual plotting and just makes you even more pissed off watching it.

Sounds abysmal, I'm glad I never gave it any more attention.

We gave this another try and Series 7 is actually quite good.
Less morose but you can tell the actors hate filming their as it looks bloody freezing.

What's good about it? Not heard of it but willing to give it a go The actual story is better than the last series and the characters less depressing. I suppose it's like a bleaker version of Taggart.🤔

The real star of Taggart was Glasgow of course.
