Without JD, I couldn't even do a top five, I always thought a lot of Fac was self indulgent. Talent will out but not style over substance, a contributing factor on why they went bust. Anyhoo, OMD Electricity was a wonderful slice of pioneering electronica.

Other than Joy Division and the Happy Mondays, most of Factory Records output was mince.
I can take ACR and the Durutti Column in small doses but they weren't really that good.
As for New Order? Awful dross as I've said on here many a time over the years.
JD Top 10 would be easy however.

I agree that there was a fair amount of mediocrity released by the label but so many nuggets in there too.
We all loved the Mondays right?
WFL? A banger
Happy Mondays - Wrote For Luck (Official Music Video)

If you go through the catalogue system there are a fair few items which are not records or cassettes. Linder Sterling graphics, postcards, posters. They even gave a Fac number to a lawsuit they were involved in. In my world though it is the semi translucent Unknown Pleasures that is sought after, hold it up to a light and if gives of a red hue then you've got a bit of a nest egg.

As for New Order? Awful dross It really is a struggle to think of a group that lacks as much value as them.

I wonder how come that Pistols Heyday cassette came out on Factory. I still have mine (won it on a radio show hosted by Craig Cash)

For those that love NO it's baffling and bewildering that there are those, like you and Zeo, who cannot hear the magic To my ears there's no finer run of singles than their 82-87 output - and they really mastered how to make 12 inch remixes a thing of beauty and grandeur Extraordinary stuff - spine-tingling-ly so

The only interesting album they made was 'Movement' but they were still really Joy Division.
The reason why I also like this.
