There's a lot of worthless pap on that list... probably compiled by a vacuous millennial hipster.

Vacuous millennial hipsters will inherit the world, unless the far-right gun-toting conspiracy theorists don't get them first. Or Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, Kim Jong-un etc.

I never expected any of my favourites to be on that list and sure enough they weren't.

Yeah, good choices. I'd rate those 5 as 1. Gang of Four 2. Buzzcocks (my natural inclination is to place them no. 1, but that GoF track is too bloody good) 3. Echo & the Bunnymen 4. Sterolab 5. PiL

There's a lot of worthless pap on that list... probably compiled by a vacuous millennial hipster. I think it was a cohort of journos which doubtless included some young people

When Anne Nightingale took over presenting the OGWT, it was pretty much umissable every week... (The Vibrators were GREAT when Whistling Bob presented it though) PiL's first appearance playing 'Poptones' & 'Careering' 999 'Homicide' & 'Let's Face It' X-Ray Spex 'Artificial 'Warrior in Woolworths' 'I Live Off You' The Adverts 'Bored Teenagers' 'Drowning Men' 'The Great British Mistake' Eddie and the Hot Rods 'Beginning Of The End' ...and ...of course THIS!

...yeah, good choice Zeo. I think it speaks volumes about how modest and unassuming Hendrix really was when he casually dismisses their big hit at that time as 'rubbish' ...stops playing it and kicks into their tribute to Cream with obvious relish. Their whole performance is an act of beautiful defiance. Not only the studio floor managers, but also Track Records must have been mighty angry with what they did, but the band didn't care!

It was great witnessing the evolution of OGWT.
It was so sweet when they put that stale old relic Harris out to pasture, replaced him with Annie and started putting cool bands on.
