Peter Kay: I don't get how he's so popular. Phoenix Nights was great and Max and Paddy but since then...... I heard that he got a percentage of the car parking when he played the Manchester Arena years ago don't know if that's true. If it is it's disgusting. Nothing is ever enough for these parasites. As they cannot physically rob us or enslave us anymore, as they'd like to, I guess this is the next best thing. www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/whats-on/comedy-news/live-peter-kay-tour-tickets-25498922

Jesus, I loved Phoenix Nights but his stand up is just that Remember When You Were Kids schitck that appeals to middle aged people in cardigans. Prices that touts want, you could go see Stewart Lee twenty times and go for a curry after.
These performances like The Damned and Kay are being traded to people on a Fear Of Missing Out perspective. Pretty worthless as an artistic or cultural spectacle but you can say I Was There. Sad

Yeah who remembers Lucky Bags hilarious 🤣
Ripe for parody. Who remembers daddy belting you and mummy crying for hours and the neglect that meant you had shitty undies which your classmates saw in the changing room at games.

Loved him as Spud in Cradle To Grave, but as mentioned above his stand up relies heavily on nostalgia.

Loved Phoenix Nights, classic Northern English satire.
His ma is from Coalisland, Co Tyrone.
Sad to see his greed.🤨

www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-63652665Tickets to see Taylor Swift live in concert sold so swiftly the general public never even had a chance to buy. Ticketmaster, the company selling seats to the singer's US tour, cancelled the public sale on Thursday, citing "extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory". It has already sold more than 2 million tickets in pre-sales for select groups. The company has come under criticism after the demand crashed its website. "I got so close three or four times and the website broke. It was agonising," said mum Nancy Abulmagd, one of the fans who had won the lottery to participate in a pre-sale. She spent hours on Tuesday in a virtual queue, behind thousands of other people, trying to score seats for her 11-year-old daughter and friends, only to have the website crash repeatedly and eventually turn her away, empty-handed. "The experience was really deflating. It messed with your emotions and sucked up your whole day," the 41-year-old, who lives in New Jersey, said.

Where do a sub-average bunch of has-beens like Embrace get the idea they are worth this ? Not many groups get to make Snow Patrol look significant by comparison

A group of Taylor Swift fans is suing Ticketmaster over what they call the “disastrous” recent debacle to secure tickets for her 2023 Eras US tour. In November, Ticketmaster had to cancel the public on-sale date for the tour “due to extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand”, the company said at the time. The fans are suing the ticketing behemoth and its parent company Live Nation for “fraud, price-fixing, and antitrust violations,” alleging that “intentional deception” allowed scalpers to buy the majority of tickets. www.theguardian.com/music/2022/dec/05/taylor-swift-fans-sue-ticketmaster-over-tour-sale-debacle

Touts jailed for fraud over ticket reselling ordered to pay £6.2mPeter Hunter and David Smith jailed in 2020 in first successful prosecution related to large-scale ticket fraud... Two ticket touts who were jailed for fraud related to large-scale ticket reselling have been ordered to pay £6.2m in a confiscation order.
Peter Hunter, 53, and David Smith, 68, were sentenced to prison in February 2020 after a three-month trial in which the married couple were found guilty of fraudulent trading and possessing an article for fraud.
Their case was the first successful prosecution related to large-scale ticket fraud. Together the couple ran BZZ Limited, which they used to buy and resell hundreds of tickets at inflated prices for concerts by musicians including Ed Sheeran, Madness, and McBusted, as well as shows such as the West End play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.Rest here.... www.theguardian.com/money/2022/dec/14/touts-jailed-for-over-ticket-reselling-ordered-to-pay-62m
