So 'Lord Emsworth', do I take it that you're a fan of Blandings? I am and have watched both series at least once a year since they were aired.
For those not familiar here's the lowdown from IMDB -
I love the character Beach - the butler, particularly the one played by Mark Williams in the first series, he's really got the measure of the family and is really dry witted, the Duke is played by Harry Enfield and is an(other) archetypal inbred.
My favourite quote from Blandings is from Lord Emsworth, and one that I often use if I find my self in a state of flux -
All in all it's a good bit of short, sharp escapism with some very good actors thrown in.
Anyone else?

Thanks dm999
Wonderful, and surprising, to see a Blandings tribute here
I salute you Sir
I'm a massive Wodehouse fan - and love the Blandings novels and have read them all
Definitely my favourite Wodehouse series
I must admit that I only saw a couple of episodes of the TV series
I thought it was really well cast, and worked well, but it wasn't quite what was in my head and so I didnt stick with it
Perhaps I should give it a second chance?

Ahhh.. that's often the problem if you read something and form an image of it before seeing a visual adaptation isn't it? I'd give it another chance if I were you, at least now you won't have the expectation that it will be the same as the books.
I've read some Wodehouse but not the Blandings novels, I'll try and snag a few once the library is back in operation. I much prefer a physical book to a digital version.

Thanks dm999 - I will indeed revisit the series
Yep, I prefer a physical book, though do also have an e-reader too, often the digital editions are much cheaper
I also like listening to audiobooks
