The missus dragged me to an Adam Ant gig last year.J hated his 80’s stuff and never listened to him back in the 70’s (apart from getting the car trouble single)The gig was ok still didn’t like the 80’s stuff but his earlier ones got me bopping Ha Ha, Snap ! I was quite impressed when I saw them in Brighton + the fact Jordan was in the seat in front of me...although Mrs Loz had no idea who she was and thought I fancied her as I kept looking at her. It was a good day in fact because POG played in the afternoon and they are a real favorite of mine.

I love all the early, pre Do-It Records Demos... years ago Marco began working on remastering the original tapes from 1978 for a Box Set but there was some major falling out (insert pun here) between him and Adam, so it was scrapped. Adam has mentioned them being released, more recently... but still nothing
I have various bootlegs, but would love to hear the songs from the masters..

Back in the 90s Adam reprinted a collection of his early Antz flyers and homemade collages in a limited edition print run, presented in folder - glad i got them while i could.

For fans of the ORIGINAL Adam + The Antz 1977-1980 BLOOD, SWEAT, LEATHER & TEARS PART ONE The original Adam & The Antz Story 5 Years in the making this Amazing book by Johna Johnson on Old Dog Books is finaly ready to pre-order Everyone’s heard of chart-topping Adam and the Ants, but long before that period there was a more subversive, stylish, futuristic punk-infused band. Little is known about what went on in this secretive clandestine world. These days people whisper about those debauched times, and are curious to know the truth. Step inside these pages to find out how four cocksure northern kids from Bradford got involved with the most exciting, but the most reviled band ever. Then, meet the ‘Ant kids’ who Loved The Ants and no-one was going to stop them from following their band period. They would often find themselves in dangerous situations where rampaging Skinheads would turn up to attack them at gigs. And finally What's it like sharing a house with Adam, Filmmaker Julian Temple and Adam’s girlfriend at the time, Actress Amanda Donohoe. www.olddogbooks.net/shop/olddogbooks/blood-sweat-leather-tears-the-original-adam-the-antz-story-1977-80-part-one/?fbclid=IwAR1dy_ow77_RH0uUMnKWlmtNyvnO3fSVjwCKBj8R2dsQGM5Fh_heICYI31g

Johna has elaborated on the book here...
"Just remember guys it's not a definitive account of the Ants story. It's a fictional tale of 4 northern kids watching the ants set among the known facts of the band. All the gigs happened [except the Man in the moon gig where no one was there ] and i've expanded gig stories for drama purposes Thinking particularly about Salisbury and South bank Poly RAR gig where i think i may have gone OTT on that one. To give context to the story i've added various gigs Pistols at Huddersfield, The Clash Victoria park and other Bradford punk related events Yorkshire Ripper etc Hope you enjoy it"

Get well soon Adam I never knew that (according to the Lancashire Telegraph link above)... Adam Ant became a successful producer for Tears For Fears before embarking on a solo career.

^^ They mean Chris Merrick Hughes, the drummer. Bad journalism.

ADAM + THE ANTZ - FACTORY OF NOISE Manchester Factory 21/7/1979 (Bootleg Lp) A few years ago, a small gang of 'original era' Antz fans (me included) clubbed together to buy from Ebay a mixing desk tape of this gig, at the legendary Factory in Manchester in 1979. Dunno if there was more than one tape in circulation, but it's just been released on Bootleg, so i thought... I NEED TO HEAR THIS. There are three different pressings of this. I went for this 'splatter' pressing. Only 20 copies made. Bootlegs by the very nature of their source are notoriously shite in quality... but this is GREAT!!
