Fascinating process Worth watching for the moment they separate out John's vocals... The Beatles - Now and Then (a short film)That was very emotional for me...thanks for sharing!

Fabulous process but a slight nagging doubt, is it really the Beatles? It's a Lennon composition from 78 just touched up by modern technology. I'm certain that not every prior Beatles song was composed with all 4 in the same room and equally contributing. I think it's safe to say that a large majority of Beatles' tunes were created from a singular idea that started with one of them. If you're going to use AI for anything, this is a good thing. The way they were able to separate John's voice and piano from a 45 year old recording is remarkable.

Apparently John wrote on the tape case, "FOR PAUL" Glad they managed to save the song from the demo and turn it into something of rather melancholy understated beauty.

After you've removed all the media hype and rose tinted spectacles, it's only alright. It's no more than a Lennon album track that would have surfaced on Double Fantasy or the odds and ends retrospective Milk And Honey.

Beatles experts are divided over how effectively it could capture the band’s spirit Possibly cos they'd split up 8 years earlier...

I couldn't really care less, if people don't consider it a 'legit' Beatles recording... or a John Lennon 're-imagined' solo demo.
Due to the inevitable ridiculous OTT Media hype on it, i was rather underwhelmed when i heard it played on the radio for the first time. Kinda like the first time i heard Bowie's comeback song, Where Are We Now?
But after a couple of listens on some decent headphones, i rather like it. Some songs need time to be fully appreciated.

Some songs need time to be fully appreciated. I'll give it a decade or so, and if I'm still alive, I'll give it a listen

It was never going to be a classic but it still sent shivers down my spine

It was never going to be a classic but it still sent shivers down my spine I think it's a strong track. Nice endcap.

Oh aye, Juno records are asking £16.75 (p&p extra) for the 7" vinyl. B side just the bog standard Love Me Do. I'm beginning to actively dislike this now.

Most people probably won't even play it - to ensure it retains its value
I find modern collectors a baffling breed

bodes ill for the future, taking scraps and rehashing /"AI"-ing them together and getting Beatles or whomever by numbers. Dreary and lifeless. Still, it will no doubt make some people that don't need it some more money.
