The Screaming Tribesmen's 1985 EP Date With A Vampyre is only one of several record picture sleeves to use imagery from Nosferatu

I've never seen the original
I did see the Herzog film Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979) in the cinema - no idea what the differences are but the Herzog version is great

The best film about Nosferatu was the one with Willem Dafoe called 'Shadow of the Vampyre' whereby the guy who played Nosferatu really thought he was a vampire!
Dafoe was suitably creepy in and out of character.

The Scarborough female vocalist Matheliya of Danse Society has composed a live rock score to accompany the shorter 60 minute version. It debuted on my shops sponsored Sounds of Scarborough series of gigs this year. Quite a success and it looks like it will get a residency at our YMCA theatre.
The actual original film almost never saw the light of day (pun intended) as the Bram Stoker estate won a plagiarism case against director Murnau and the majority of prints were destroyed.
Overall I find it a visually impressive film, though the ninety minute version does drag a little, some scenes are stills lasting 60 to 90 seconds. Along with Metropolis, Caligari, it is a real pioneering work.

Nosferatu is an upcoming American gothic horror film written and directed by Robert Eggers. It is a remake of the 1922 film of the same name, based on Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula. The film stars Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney, and Willem Dafoe.

I'm interested but I found the previous seventies remake with Klaus Kinski pretty ridiculous, turning the original Dracula story inside out, Harker becoming the new Count.
Anyone see Last Voyage of the Demeter? Got reasonable reviews but seems to have sunk (pun intended) without trace.

Not a massive horror fan but it does sound good Thanks Stu
‘Nosferatu’ remake goes “harder than any other horror film this year,” according to early reviews
The movie, which is set to release on December 25 in the US and January 3 in the UK, is a remake of the 1922 film of the same name, which in turn was based on Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Directed by Robert Eggers, it stars the likes of Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Emma Corrin.
Courtney Howard, a member of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, said that Nosferatu “goes harder than any other horror film this year,” and calls it a “gorgeous grotesquerie of dread-infused terrors and a divine dark delight.”
