Maybe I love Don't Stand Me Down First four tunes on this one are great Thereafter it's less compelling All the sexual submission stuff I can do without Fair play to Kev for putting his sexual preferences front and centre, and I'm sure it's making him very happy, especially as it seems to be wrapped up with guilt for being a toxic man earlier in his life, but it's not for me. The titles say it all... The Feminine Divine My Goddess Is Goddess Rules My Submission

Because he's an 'artiste' he can make an album about it, if it was the bloke next door, he'd be on a restraining order.

Sorry America...
It is with sadness that we announce that - due to circumstances beyond our control - Dexys’ November tour of the USA and Canada will no longer take place. Dexys were really looking forward to playing for their North American fans, and are aware that those who bought tickets will be as disappointed by this news as we are. Refunds are available at point of purchase
Dexys hope to return to North America as soon as they are able to
Additionally, our show at St. David's Hall, Cardiff - originally postponed for safety reasons due to RAAC in the venue - cannot be rescheduled. All options were explored to reschedule this performance, but unfortunately it just wasn't possible. Refunds will be issued promptly by the promoter
Dexys have just completed a triumphant UK and Ireland tour performing The Feminine Divine Live! and are looking forward to next month's tour of mainland Europe

They're doing a one off gig at Scarborough Spa Theatre end of May. Initially I was excited but the online chatter is that they are not playing any of the eighties material. Save my forty quid for something else.

From what is going round, it is Feminine Divine, songs from My Beauty and sixties soul medleys. Who is privvy to this info, I've no idea, could just be a daft internet rumour that has snowballed. But if true, Rowland will piss off the seaside crowd if he doesn't do Geno and Eileen. I saw them years ago in their pomp, so I'm not sure I want to sully those memories by taking a chance on this

I'm currently reading Helen O'Hara's book which is very interesting It's sent me straight back to the live recordings of The Bridge tour, and which came out as part of the Too Rye Ay As It Should Have Sounded package It's so flipping good. The band is on fire and what a set list with some radical reworkings of earlier tunes www.dexys.org/bridge.html
