Incredible song. Covered by masses of other artists in Australia and elsewhere including Joan Baez and The Dubliners. I saw The Pogues play it when they toured Australia in the 1980s. That was a great version. I've got it on a 7 inch by John Currie from 1975. That was the first release for the song even though Bogle had first performed it in 1971. The Currie version seems to be the only one you can't find on youtube. Here's some other versions:

Bogle also wrote another classic anti war anthem about a young Irish soldier killed in WW1. I saw Finbar Furry perform it at the Co Op theatre Nottingham, mid eighties. On the last chorus the audience all rose from their seats and sang in unison. Incredibly moving evening.
