Just listening to the latest edition of Rockonteurs and Guy Pratt is talking about going to see Sweeney Todd over a dozen times.
The only musicals I've seen are the Queen one and the Producers. (Based on the 60s film) I tried to watch Les Miserables the musical film but found it hard going.
Anyone into them?
I keep meaning to watch Brecht stuff on YouTube.

Never been to one, would consider "Cabaret" as there's some great songs but otherwise they are not my cup of tea.

I saw Rocky Horror years ago and enjoyed it immensely. The songs are great campy rockers even stand alone. Who doesn't love this lunacy.....

Having spent 30-odd years working in theatre/live entertainment, I've seen enough musicals ( amateur and professional ) to last me a lifetime.
Most of them have been enjoyable, especially when the run lasts 5 or more performances. With familiarity comes a greater appreciation, particularly when following a script. But even seeing a show as a one-off it's generally been positive.
Most of what I've seen/worked on have been well-established shows. I have seen 'new' productions, such as Book of Mormon, and people keep telling me to see Hamilton, but most of the commercial side leaves me cold.

The only musical I've seen was 'West Side Story'. Very good it was too.
Gang violence meets ballet.....
