I received a copy of this on DVD as a present(don't ask)and it does not stand the test of time at all.
However, worth a look for novelty value. Dracula(played by a totally disinterested Christopher Lee)is resurrected in London in 1972 after getting a cartwheel through his body a hundred years before.
London in 1972 is awash with hippies, eccentrics and other assorted freaks from the counterculture and one of these is Van Helsing's granddaughter played by Stephanie Beacham who is coerced into attending a black mass by Dracula's modern day servant called Johnny Alucard...
Well, you can guess the rest.
Complete hokum but there's a performance at the beginning by a band called Stoneground who obviously thought they were due a big break, complete with Joplin style vocals.
And to think we used to hide behind cushions at these type of films..๐
Peter Cushing's talent was obviously wasted by appearing in this pish๐
0/10 but so bad it was good.

I've seen it, many years ago. Caroline Munro is in it as I recall. I'd like to see it again just for the footage of central London.

The last time I saw it was in the late 70's when I was still at home. The actual print itself is quite clear and some of it is set on the Kings Rd and in West London. Also Peter Cushing going about his business in a rather shoddy looking Central London compared to today. And yes, Caroline Munro is in it and obviously is very nice to look at๐. The dialogue too is good. Everyone is called 'man' (even Dracula!)and the cops are called 'the fuzz'. I seem to remember it was a lot longer too but it's barely 90 minutes.

I'm pretty sure Caroline Munro talks about it in this and they play some dialogue from it which is so laughable it was probably mocked even then. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05qvr63

She actually has very little to say in it...which is probably just as well๐ I like Caroline, humble and friendly person and good that she's getting a bit of credit as a person rather than being seen to be a bit of 'fluff'. I think she was also involved in the Damned's 'A Night of a 1000 Vampires' too.๐
