Idles in Belfast on Saturday. Excellent gig. Really enjoyed support band Chalk. Thought they were much better than when I saw them at the start of the year at Rockaway Beach. Slight lull mid-set from Idles, but really picked it up at the end. First gig on this part of the tour so not up to full speed yet. Also on my trip was a visit to the Crumlin Road Jail, some excellent street art - which included the murals on the old Good Vibrations Record Shop ( visitbelfast.com/article/virtual-street-art-tour/ ), the Ulster Museum - which was hosting an exhibition on the Troubles and included a few posters/tickets/flyers/clothes from the early days of Irish punk. We stayed round the corner from Hill Street which hosted the original Harp Bar and now features a plaque on the wall acknowledging the fact. Next up, Sleaford Mods in Portsmouth on Friday. Then Immersion ( Colin Newman ) at the Railway Inn, Winchester, the following Friday.

Noticed that Skids / Spear of Destiny are playing Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Bristol, Brighton and a few other cities in December , judging from what I saw last night it's well worth getting along to.
