Tima Turner has died at the age of 83.

She had a truly wonderful voice and made some fine music with her husband Ike. I wasn't so keen on her subsequent solo career (her only solo album that I really like is her second, Acid Queen) but she could bring real vocal passion and drama to anything she performed.
