That salacious gossip Hollywood Babylon book has now been debunked as full of untruths. Sad, as that Marie Provost tune by Nick Lowe is one of the blackest, comic songs ever written. I remember falling asleep to one of his films in the Nottingham Arts Cinema.

Was a film influenced as much of his work was by Aleister Crowley and stars Marjorie Cameron who was Jack Parson's "scarlet woman". Was an interesting character Anger, and carried his "Thelemic" beliefs with him throughout his life. RIP

I think the only one I ever saw in full was Scorpio Rising which is just footage of motorcycles being fixed. With an erotic undertone.

What did you make of Inauguration of the Pleasure Dome? I enjoyed it, but you have to approach it more as a work of art rather than a conventional narrative structure film, we have a tendency to need cinema to make sense which is something we don't expect of art which we are happy to put our own interpretation upon. This is why people like David Lynch's work annoys so many. We have become very lazy in regards to cinema/TV, low attention spans and a need for resolution in everything has made challenging works almost non existent.

Wise words Doug. I love Lynch and a whole lot of other more abstract and experimental cinema
